What is the difference? When is genocide not 'genocide'?

Nice 'fix' Bush has gotten the US into regarding foreign policy.

With his holy mess in Iraq, Turkey has become a VERY IMPORTANT ally in the region.

Turkey? That great bastion of democracy?

To such an extent that 'genocide' is now ignored. Or wished away. (But holocaust-deniers are crucified for their views?)

What is the difference, Mr Bush?

If you kill a group of people for political reasons and they happen to all be of the same race, that's just your every day, run of the mill massacre.

Now if you kill them BECAUSE of their race whether it suits your geopolitical position or not, you can call that a genocide.
"Nice 'fix' Bush has gotten the US into regarding foreign policy."

Nice try:

"Turkey ordered its ambassador in Washington to return to Turkey for consultations over a U.S. House panel's approval of a bill describing the World War I-era mass killings of Armenians as genocide"

Last I checked the House was majority controlled by Democrats. I never recall Bush asking for a bill that would damage our foreign policy with one of our most important allies in the war in Iraq. I mean, just how do Democrats screw things up so trolls like you can come here and blame it on Bush. Unbelievable! You guys did the same thing when another of your own, Charlie Rangel, proposed bringing the draft back! You people need to pay attention to who proposes what policy so you can place blame correctly. I know you hate Bush, this is America and you are entitled to that right, but no one will respect your opinion if it's baseless.

My personal feelings on this bill are it is important to recognize historical events factually. However, the implication if recognizing them must be considered. Right now, it is not wise to anger Turkey. As I mentioned in another similar question yesterday: if you oppose the war, this can effect you a lot (this resolution, and Turkey's anger over it). If you want a safe withdrawal from Iraq, then securing Turkey as a jump off point back home is paramount. This action could severely jeapordize our troops livelihood in the event that we withdraw, whenever or for whatever reason.
